Laparascopic Myomectomy

International reports show that uterine fibroids significantly reduce the chance of pregnancy and increase pregnancy losses whether the fibroids are situated in the sub-mucus position or an intra-mural location. Outcomes of fertility treatment siginificantly improved when the fibroids are removed.

Laparoscopic myomectomywas pioneered in Western Australia in 1991 by Dr John Yovich, Medicla Director. PIVET now has extensive experiencein a range of laporoscopic myomectomy techniques. These are currently being performed regularly by four laporoscopic surgeons, essentially as day cases.

Apart from improved fertility, benefits include reoulution of menorrhagia and avoidance of hysterectomy.
